Lead Recorder alternatives: tools for recorded calls, swapped numbers and free starts

Last reviewed November 1, 2026

Quick answerPick CallRail or WhatConverts if you need call recording or a swapped number for each visitor, which Lead Recorder does not do. Nimbata bills per answered call, and Google Ads call reporting is the free baseline.

Lead Recorder alternatives: why people look elsewhere

The main Lead Recorder alternatives are CallRail and WhatConverts for recorded calls and a number swapped for each visitor, Nimbata for billing per answered call, CallTrackingMetrics (CTM) for recording with numbers and minutes billed as usage, and Google's free reporting as a no-cost start. Lead Recorder here is the lead tracking software at leadrecorder.com, not a medical loop recorder.

Lead Recorder Business is $39 a month, or $390 a year, as read on November 1, 2026, and every plan logs forms, phone taps and bookings with their source.

The call tracking add-on does not record or transcribe calls, does not give each visitor a different number and matches a call to a visit only when exactly one visitor could have made it. It lists 150 included minutes with nothing stated beyond, while the home page says no per-minute charges. Agency stops at 25 sites, and Lead Recorder is not a CRM.

CallRail and WhatConverts for recorded calls and swapped numbers

Lead Recorder's own call tracking page points to CallRail and WhatConverts for recordings and transcripts. CallRail's Lead Tracking plan includes 5 local numbers and 250 local minutes, with a website pool that swaps the number for each new visitor. Pick it when most of your leads are phone calls that need recording.

WhatConverts' Call Tracking plan costs less to enter, $30 a month against CallRail's $55 on monthly billing, both plus usage, but covers calls and texts only; forms start on its Plus plan at $60 a month. Pick it for a swapped number at the lower fee when forms do not matter.

Recording rules differ from state to state, so check your state's law first. See CallRail alternatives and best call tracking software.

Nimbata and CallTrackingMetrics for billing by use

Nimbata charges one flat rate per answered call, whatever the duration. Its Entry plan is $0 plus usage, without number swapping or recordings. Pick Nimbata when you want each answered call billed at one rate and no per-minute meter.

CTM's Marketing Lite includes no numbers or minutes, and call recording is free on all its plans. Pick CTM when you want recording and accept paying for each number and minute: its local numbers are $2 a month and its local minutes $0.04.

GA4 and Google Ads reporting for a free start

Google Analytics is free of charge, and GA4 lists form_submit events, so it can count form submissions at no cost; it takes no personal data such as email addresses. Google Ads call reporting counts calls from ads, and Google's forwarding numbers on the website route come without any cost to you. Ad clicks are billed as always.

When to stay with Lead Recorder

Stay with Lead Recorder when leads arrive mostly by form and phone tap and a flat plan price suits you: every plan includes unlimited leads, and taps cost no extra. A small agency paying for CallRail across client accounts and pricing a simpler option can look at Studio, $99 a month or $990 a year. It covers 5 sites, each with a read-only client share link, and adds client commenting.

Before you leave, note that Lead Recorder's home page offers a 14-day free trial with no card, and its pricing page a 14-day money-back guarantee. The Lead Recorder review covers its plan limits in full.
